The terrorist organization Hamas, which runs the Gaza Strip, celebrated its 28th anniversary on Monday with rallies, marches, and speeches full of anti-Israel rhetoric.

Tens of thousands of Palestinians marched in the streets to commemorate the establishment of the terror group, chanting slogans and waving Hamas flags. Children, dressed in fatigues and masks, wielded toy guns, while militants carried real ones.

Hamas released a press statement on its English language website to coincide with its day of celebration in which the organization vowed “to continue our resistance and steadfastness until almighty Allah grants us triumph” and “keep its weapons directed at the Israeli occupation”.

Hamas boasted, “Over the years, Hamas has proved uncontainable, unbreakable despite the enemy’s plots and conspiracies.”

The statement also called for the continuation of the current wave of violence, which they have dubbed the “Jerusalem Intifada”, and for the PA to cease cooperation with Israel on security matters, as well as abandon “the illusions of peace”.

“Jerusalem is the core of our struggle with the Israeli occupation, its holiness inspired from our faith and the blood of the martyrs, men, women and children,” the statement read. “Therefore, we will never compromise even one inch or a grain of its soil or holy sites.”

The organization also declared, “Hamas will never recognize the Israeli occupation, and confirms that Palestine from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean is an Arab, Islamic country.”
