Leviticus 7:11
Now this is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings which shall be presented to the Lord.

וְאִם־זֶ֥בַח שְׁלָמִ֖ים usually translated “fellowship,” “well-being,” or even “slaughter-offering of shalom.”

Communion sacrifices and the resulting sacred meal shared between God. The one who brought the sacrifice was to partake in eating the bread and flesh of this sacrifice along with the priests, while the fat being burned and consumed was for YHVH.

This could be offered in three forms:

  1. The todah “thanksgiving” offering (Leviticus 7:11-15)
  2. The nedavah “voluntary offering” (Leviticus 7:16-17)
  3. The neder “vow offering” (Leviticus 7:16-17)
