VIDEO: Trump’s Father ‘Was Truly a Man who Respected Judaism’
A friend of the Trump family is optimistic that the new American president will serve his country well and maintain a strong friendship with Israel.
Malki Weisberg, the daughter of the late New York Rabbi Israel Wagner, discussed with a reporter her close family ties with the Trump family.
Fred C. Trump, the US president’s father, had great respect for the Jewish community and enjoyed a close friendship with Wagner. He “was truly a man who respected Judaism,” helped build an orthodox synagogue, gave annual donations and was the first person to turn to when families were in need, she said.
She also remembers Donald, one of the children, who was “rambunctious” but very close to his father.
Weisberg believes that President Trump has pride in America. She is hopeful that he will maintain a strong friendship with the Jewish state.
