The US decision to pull its troops out of Syria “in no way” diminishes the US-Israel partnership, Pompeo told Netanyahu at a joint news conference on Tuesday.

Meeting in Brasilia on the sidelines of the inauguration of President Jair Bolsonaro, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo assured Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Washington has not backed away from its counter-ISIS campaign, its fight against Iranian aggression and its commitment to Middle East stability.

In turn, Netanyahu expressed appreciated for America’s “unequivocal support” from the Trump administration regarding Israel’s self-defense efforts against Syria and Hezbollah.
