Ethiopian Woman Praying

The year was 1991, the government of Ethiopia was in disarray and Jews across the world were deeply concerned about their brethren in Africa. The Israeli government decided to take action with a covert rescue operation which became known as “Operation Solomon.”

In one of the largest rescues in Israeli history, 35 planes airlifted 14,325 Ethiopian Jews to Israel in only 36 hours!

These refugees arrived with precious few possessions but with hearts full of gratitude, having made it safely to their dream home, to Israel.
