North American aliyah

Hundreds of new ‘olim’ express their elation upon landing in Israel – for some of them, a dream come true.

On Wednesday, 239 North American immigrants arrived in Israel on a special flight chartered by Nefesh B’Nefesh, an organization that facilitates the Aliyah process.

Included among the new arrivals were 57 young men and women who plan to serve in the IDF as “lone soldiers,” the term used for those with no immediate family in Israel. Organizations such as Friends of the IDF (FIDF) and the Association for the Wellbeing of Israel’s Soldiers provide support to these idealistic heroes.

In this video, the new olim express their exhilaration upon moving to Israel and fulfilling their dreams. Watch and be inspired!
