Special Soldiers

Instead of accepting their exemption from the Israeli army because of their disabilities, some young men and women insist on serving their country, just like their peers.

The army draft in Israel applies to all young men and women with a few exceptions, including the exemption for Israelis with disabilities.

There are a some, however who refuse to accept this exemption and contribute their own unique skills and talents to serve and defend their country.

Meet three such soldiers who, despite their “special needs,” are giving an “extra special’ contribution to the defense and protection of the State of Israel.
