Israeli journalists have been targeted by “fake news” bots, which are fraudulent social media accounts people use to try to trick the press into publishing lies.
A free press remains one of the pillars of a democratic society, which is why an army of cyber-haters is trying to attack journalism in Israel by sneaking fake stories into the news to poison opinions in the Jewish state and create dissension.
The fake news “bots” use made-up accounts on Twitter to send fabricated stories to journalists, hoping to trick them into promoting lies.
But Israeli journalists are fighting for the truth, sniffing out the fake news bots to preserve Israel’s free press and protect its democratic ideals.
