In Israel, “man’s best friend” helps former IDF soldiers recover from both physical wounds and psychological scars.

Specially-trained canines from the Israeli Service Dog Training Center provide comfort and therapeutic companionship for people with disabilities, including former IDF soldiers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

“The dog’s role is to help the patient stay calm. For example, he can snuggle up against him, look at him, lick him, as if to say: don’t worry, I’m here with you, everything’s fine,” elaborated the center’s founder, Ilan Frumkin.
