PMW submitted a complaint to the Israeli police against the Israeli-Arab Hadash political party after it expressed sympathy for and solidarity with Palestinian murderers.
Palestinian Media Watch (PMW), a media watchdog that monitors incitement in the Palestinian media, on Thursday submitted a complaint to the Israeli police against the Israeli-Arab Hadash political party after it expressed sympathy for and solidarity with Palestinian murderers on its Facebook page.
Stating “Through you we will build a more beautiful tomorrow,” the party paid tribute to Abdallah Barghouti, who prepared explosives for terror attacks in which 67 civilians were murdered, to Marwan Barghouti, who planned terror attacks in which at least five civilians were murdered, to Karim Younes, who kidnapped and murdered an Israeli soldier and to Ahmad Sa’adat, who was the Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terror group and was praised on Palestinian TV broadcasts for planning the murder of Israeli Minister of Tourism Rehavam Ze’evi.
The Facebook post expressed sympathy for and solidarity with Palestinian terrorist prisoners and their hunger strike.
The inciting post included text and a video that opens with a picture of four Palestinian arch-terrorists.
Also appearing in the video is a picture of prisoner Fuad Al-Shubaki, a PA official responsible for the weapons smuggling attempt on the ship Karine A in January 2002.
A segment from the song in the post’s video praises the prisoners with the words:
“You are the glory of our nation/ You are the leaders/ And the crown on our heads/ And you are the lords…/ Through you we will build a more beautiful tomorrow/ Through you we will continue and we will triumph.”
The Hadash Party also called on Israeli-Arabs to participate in solidarity activities with the Palestinian prisoners throughout the country, and said that the terrorist prisoners “are paying the price for their just struggle.”
It would appear the post constitutes a violation of Clause 24(B)(2) of Israel’s Anti-Terror Law, which forbids publishing “praise, sympathy for, or encouragement of an act of terror, support of it, or solidarity with it,” PMW said.
