Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu filed a protest with the International Red Cross over the abandonment of wounded Jewish victims of terror.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke Saturday evening with Noa Litman, the wife of Rabbi Yaakov Litman, 44, and mother of Netanel Litman, 18, who were murdered Friday in a terrorist attack near Otniel in Judea. The Prime Minister expressed his condolences and those of the nation over the tragedy.

Litman told Netanyahu that a Red Crescent (Palestinian Red Cross) ambulance stopped at the scene of the attack but rendered no assistance to the wounded, telling the family instead to contact Magen David Adom paramedics.

Netanyahu instructed the Foreign Ministry to file a sharp protest with the International Committee of the Red Cross, which is responsible for the Red Crescent, and request explanations for the abandonment of Jewish injured in contravention of all human and civilized norms. “If things are indeed as they seem to me today, the State of Israel will take appropriate steps against the Red Crescent,” he said.

Last month, police investigated the violent behavior of Arab bystanders in the Old City of Jerusalem who assaulted a wounded terror victim rather than assisting her.

Israeli Medics Treat Wounded Palestinians

In contrast, IDF medical teams and Israeli civilian emergency units from communities in Judea and Samaria regularly treat local Arabs, often after car accidents, for a broad array of ailments and injuries. Walking to an IDF checkpoint or to the front gate of an Israeli community for medical treatment is common practice among Arabs living in the Palestinian Authority (PA)-administered territories.

Hospitals throughout Israel also provide medical treatment. In August, for example, doctors at Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa saved an 18-year-old Palestinian from Hebron after he was initially treated at a local hospital.
