PA Head Abbas Again Hosts Families of Murderous Terrorists

Mahmoud Abbas

In what can only be perceived as support for terrorism, Abbas welcomed terrorists and their families and praised those serving time in Israeli prisons for their murderous actions.

Palestinian Authority (PA) head Mahmoud Abbas recently met with Palestinians who carried out terrorist attacks against Israelis and with the family of a terrorist, thus showing support for their heinous actions.

The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) reported Abbas received the family of Muhammad Al-Jallad, who died of his wounds after being shot while attempting to carry out a stabbing attack at a checkpoint in November 2016, in his Ramallah office at the beginning of the month.

Abbas also met with 14-year-old Osama Zaidat, shot attempting to stab civilians in Kiryat Arba in September 2016 and recently released from detention, as well as with Imad Asaf, an Al-Aqsa Brigades member of Fatah’s military wing, who took part in the Second Intifada in 2000 and was recently released from prison.

In one meeting, Abbas stated, “the aggression of Israel’s arrest and murder [of Palestinians] will not keep the Palestinian people from adhering to its well-deserved rights and from establishing an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital… The Palestinian leadership will make every effort to end the suffering of our heroic brothers and release them from the occupation’s prisons, so they can take part in building the homeland for which they sacrificed.”

At the Seventh Fatah Conference in December, Abbas praised Palestinian prisoners, especially senior Fatah and Popular Front operatives behind terrorist attacks, including the assassination of Israeli minister Rehavam Zeevi.

“We remember the martyrs, the wounded and the prisoners and their record… We salute our brave prisoners and respect them. We will not forget our fighting comrades Marwan Al-Barghouti, Ahmad Sa’dat and Fouad Shubaki, or [our] glorious woman prisoners,” he said of Palestinian arch-terrorists responsible for multiple Israeli deaths.

The term “martyr” in this context is one of Islamic glorification, used for national heroes and those who have died while waging Jihad, Muslim holy war against infidels, meaning Jews or Christians.

Abbas’ use of this term to describe the terrorists indicates he condones and supports their murderous actions.

Abbas previously hosted families of murderous Palestinian terrorists and displayed public support for terrorists and terrorism, thus inciting to further acts of terrorism and perpetuating the wave of violent Palestinian terror.
