There was an outpouring of support and praise from the Palestinians for the Mohammed Taraireh, the terrorist who stabbed to death 13 year-old Hallel Yaffa Ariel, an American citizen, in her Kiryat Arba home yesterday.

Taraireh penetrated the security fence surrounding Kiryat Arba, adjacent to Hebron, and stabbed the young girl while she lay sleeping in her bed at home.

The 17 year old Palestinian then stabbed a member of the Kiryat Arba civilian security team, who managed to shoot and kill the terrorist. The man was seriously injured by bullet shrapnel to the upper body.

Taraireh’s house in Bani Na’im was decorated with Palestinian flags, while the IDF imposed a closure on the village.

Taraireh’s sister said on Palestinian television, “My brother is a martyr, praise be to God. May God avenge us upon the Jews. God willing, my brother will be happy in heaven. It’s enough to me that God supports (him).”

Tareirah’s mother appeared on video posted on the NY Times, saying, “My son died as a martyr defending Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque,” the Palestinian Media Watch organization quotes her as saying. “Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, he [my son] has joined the martyrs before him, and he is not better than them. Allah willing, all of them will follow this path, all the youth of Palestine. Allah be praised.”

CAMERA, a group devoted to monitoring and challenging perceived anti-Israeli news coverage, reported that the NY Times incorrectly translated the video of Tareirah’s mother. A blogger noted that when the mother referred to her son as “shahid” (martyr), the NY Times subtitle translated it as “my son”.

CAMERA pointed out several other errors in the translation, noting, “Where the mother says that of course anyone who would commit such an act is a ‘hero’,  the subtitle shows her saying the word ‘bold’ instead of hero.”

Fight terror by planting trees in Israel

Rina Ariel, Hallel’s mother, addressed the mother of Tareirah in her eulogy for her daughter.

“I am standing here with a heart filled with pain and I am turning to you, the Arab mother, the Muslim who sent your son out to stab. I raised my daughter with love, but you and the Arab Muslim educators, you taught him to hate. Go, put your house in order,” she said tearfully.

“How do you eulogize a 13-and-a-half-year-old girl. Tell me what words to use to eulogize a flower, a pure soul, who is courageous and beautiful. Your only sin was that you were almost perfect,” Rena said.

The grief-stricken mother then called out to God, saying, “You gave me a present and now I am returning it to you. Take her. Hug her, because I will never again be able to touch her. Make room for her, so she can dance.”

Before the attack, Mohammed Tareirah posted photos of his cousin, Yusef Taraireh, on social media. Yusef, also of Bani Na’im,  was killed while perpetrating a vehicular attack at the entrance to Kiryat Araba in March. Mohammed Taraireh stated on these posts that it was his desire to be a martyr.

Israeli Prime Minister spoke on video, condemning the attack in harsh manner, saying, “You don’t murder a sleeping child for peace. You don’t slit a little girl’s throat to protest a policy you don’t like.”

The Palestinian Authority posted statements via WAFA,  the official PA news agency, crowning Tareirah, “Shahid”(martyr), considered their highest praise. This title is usually applied to terrorist when their family will receive monthly stipends.

Republican candidate Donald Trump reacted to the murder, saying, “The murderer has been hailed as a hero and a martyr by numerous Palestinian factions,” he added. “And the silence of the liberal media with respect to this horrific tragedy is deafening.”

A second terror attack on Thursday in Netanya was entirely unreported in Western media. Two Israelis were stabbed and seriously wounded. The terrorist was shot and killed by an armed civilian.
