Next week, Microsoft will stage the grand opening of a new Tel Aviv-based “reactor,” a hub for startups in Israel to host workshops, hold events, and present talks on subjects such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, CTech reported.

The Tel Aviv reactor joins other similar Microsoft spaces in New York, Seattle, and San Francisco, where up-and-comers rub shoulders with movers-and-shakers, angel investors, and tech innovators.

Microsoft’s executive vice president of the cloud and enterprise group Scott Guthrie is slated to arrive in Israel for the launch of the hub, which is situated in one floor of the seven-story WeWork building, which Microsoft operates.

While the hub has been open for several months, the launch event will raise visibility for a space in the heart of Tel Aviv that can host up to 170 people.

The move arrives after Microsoft committed $500 million to its startup program, which serves as an incubator-like support system for a wide variety of new kids on the proverbial startup block.
