Israel’s Anthem Makes Surprise Debut at Moscow Victory Parade
On Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made an unscheduled visit to Moscow, arriving just in time for the Moscow Victory Day Parade celebrating the 73rd anniversary of the Soviet Union Army’s victory over Nazi Germany in World War II, one of the most important days in the Russian calendar. As an honored diplomatic guest, Netanyahu was treated to a moving rendition of Hatikva, Israel’s national anthem describing the 2,000-year longing of the Jewish People for their homeland.
