Hebron terror attack

An Israeli man is fighting for his life after being stabbed by a Palestinian terrorist in Hebron. Officers at the scene opened fire and killed the assailant.

A Palestinian terrorist stabbed and critically wounded an Israeli man on Monday afternoon in the city of Hebron, near the Tomb of the Patriarchs.

Police eliminated the terrorist.

The victim, Ginadi Kaufman, was taken to Shaare Zedek hospital in Jerusalem with stabs wounds to his chest.

Kaufman, a gardener in his 40s, “was stabbed in the heart, lungs and stomach,” according to a statement by the Hebron Fund.

“Ginadi is well known for his sweet manner and dedicated work to beautify Hebron and especially the Machpelah Cave (of the Patriarchs),” the statement continues. He is “fighting for his life, and we, the Hebron family, are praying that we will soon see Ginadi smiling and once again beautifying Hebron for all of us.”

“We received notification of a terror attack near the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron,” said ZAKA emergency response volunteer David Edrai. “I arrived at the scene with two other ZAKA volunteers. Then we saw a seriously wounded Israeli who was evacuated to hospital. The terrorist was shot dead.”

Hebron and its environs has been the site of multiple attacks in the current wave of terror, most of them stabbings and car rammings.

The most recent previous attack in Hebron occurred on Friday night, when two terrorists attacked IDF soldiers securing the Jewish neighborhood of Tel-Rumeida. Both terrorists were shot dead.

Israeli security forces have been operating in the city in an attempt to stem the attacks. Over the weekend, the IDF closed down printing houses in Hebron for their incitement to violence and raided several other terror sites in the area.

This incident was the latest in a long series of daily Palestinian terror attacks that have plagued Israelis over the course of almost three months, claiming the lives of 21 victims and wounding over 215.
