The leader of the Islamic State (ISIS), Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi released an audio on social media on Saturday, in which he issued a threat to Israel for the first time publicly. The speech was translated by YNet.
“If the Islamic coalition against ISIS were truly Islamic, it would declare that it was cutting ties with its Jewish and crusader masters and that its goal was to kill the Jews and liberate Palestine,” he said.
“The Jews thought we forgot Palestine and that they had distracted us from it. Not at all, Jews. We did not forget Palestine for a moment. With the help of Allah, we will not forget it… The pioneers of the jihadist fighters will surround you on a day that you think is distant and we know is close. We are getting closer every day. You will never find comfort in Palestine, Jews,” said Baghdadi. “Palestine will not be your land or your home, but it will be a graveyard for you. Allah assembled you in Palestine so that the Muslims kill you, so that you may hide behind stones and trees.”
The last statement is a reference to a teaching from the Muslim Hadith text saying that in the end of days, stones and trees will help Muslims murder all Jews.
ISIS released a video last month, in which masked jihadists issued threats against the Jewish people and a major war against Israel.
“To all the Jews, grandchildren of monkeys and pigs,” the ISIS member warned, “We are coming for you from all over the world to slaughter you.”
ISIS has also released Hebrew language videos voicing support for the wave of Palestinian violence that has plagued Israel for several months. One video was aimed at the Palestinians in Israel.
“A victory is coming to the mujahedin of the Al-Aqsa from above, you are the ones who start but we will continue it.”
ISIS has also released videos recently threatening the Vatican, New York City, and the White House.
