Iraqi PM: Operation to Liberate Mosul Has Started

In an announcement to the people of Mosul, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said that the battle to take Mosul back from the Islamic State has officially begun. Mosul, one of ISIS’s first strongholds in Iraq, remains a bastion of the Islamic State. US officials say the battle could go on for months.
