Trump Golan

Show your appreciation! Let the US president know that supporters of Israel all over the world are grateful for his friendship and solidarity with the Jewish state!

President Donald Trump announced US recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights last Thursday, after which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the American leader to thank him.

“President Trump has just made history. I called him. I thanked him on behalf of the people of Israel. He did it again,” Netanyahu said.

“First, he recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and moved the U.S. embassy here,” the prime minister continued. “Then he pulled out of the disastrous Iran treaty and re-imposed sanctions. But now he did something of equal historic importance – he recognized Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights, and he did so at a time when Iran is trying to use Syria as a platform to attack and destroy Israel.

“And the message that President Trump has given the world is that America stands by Israel,” Netanyahu affirmed.

“We are deeply grateful for the U.S. support. We’re deeply grateful for the unbelievable and unmatchable support for our security and our right to defend ourselves and everything that you do on behalf of Israel and for the State of Israel in so many forms.”

Netanyahu then traveled to Washington for the 2019 American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference and for meetings with the US president.

Standing alongside Netanyahu at the White House on Monday evening, Trump made his declaration official by signing a proclamation recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights.

The president said it was time for the US to take the step after 52 years of Israeli control of the strategic highlands on the border with Syria. “This should have been done numerous presidents ago,” he said.

Israel captured the Golan Heights from Syria in the 1967 Six-Day War, when the tiny Jewish state was threatened with annihilation by five Arab countries, but the international community has refused to recognize Israeli’s sovereignty over the territory.

“Today, aggressive action by Iran and terrorist groups in southern Syria, including Hezbollah, continue to make the Golan Heights a potential launching ground for attacks against Israel — very violent attacks,” Trump said.

Trump’s decision on the Golan was extremely courageous, considering the immediate condemnation from the United Nations and European Union over the move, which was not unexpected. Nevertheless, he did what was right and moral, demonstrating his true friendship to the people of Israel.

Yes, Netanyahu and other Israeli officials thanked Trump for his historic recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, but the president deserves the gratitude of the Jewish People and supporters of the State of Israel all over the world.

Show your appreciation! Thank President Trump and the US administration for standing united with Israel!
