Two Israeli civilians, among them an 80-year-old woman, were killed Tuesday by a relentless barrage of rockets that landed the coastal city of Ashkelon.

One of the rockets hit a house that two women took shelter inside of. The impact buried both of them under the wreckage. One woman succumbed to her wounds while her family member was seriously injured.

Also in Ashkelon, a man was killed by another rocket impact.

Approximately 70 Israelis suffered injuries and were evacuated to the city’s Asuta Hospital in Ashdod and Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon on Tuesday. Most of them suffered from light injuries or were treated for shock.

Still recovering from the crowd crush on Mount Meron that took the lives of 45 people, the ZAKA humanitarian aid organization was deployed to the scene to collect the victim’s remains and ensure that they each receive proper Jewish burials.

ZAKA is now on full standby as Israel gets battered by deadly rockets being fired from Gaza.

Earlier on Tuesday, Israel365 News reported that over 200 rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel but that number has increased to over 500 by Tuesday afternoon.
