VIDEO: Why Social Media Companies Must Adopt the IHRA Definition of Anti-Semitism
Governmental organizations and NGOs around the world have adopted the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of anti-Semitism. So should social media platforms.
Many forms of anti-Semitism are being spread using social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and TikTok.
While these platforms do have guidelines against hate speech, somehow Jew-hatred squeezes through the cracks.
Indeed, when anti-Semitic content is reported, it doesn’t always fall within their broad definition of hate speech and is therefore permitted.
That’s why it’s so important that social media platforms clearly define anti-Semitism in all its forms.
