On Tisha b’Av, the ninth day of the Hebrew month of Av, Jews mourn the destruction of the Holy Temples in Jerusalem and other tragedies that befell the Jewish people throughout history.
Over 200 years ago, 1,800 years after the destruction of the Second Temple, the legendary Napoleon Bonaparte, seeing Jews grieving on Tisha b’Av, expressed confidence that one day they will return to their land and see their Temple rebuilt.
Why would he say that? What made him so certain?
