Former Swiss military pilot Yves Rossy brought his awe-inspiring personal aircraft to Israel this week to take flight above the Holy Land as part of a top aviation conference.
Switzerland’s Yves Rossy fantasized about flying solo since he was knee-high to a grasshopper, envisioning himself floating up to the clouds without an airplane, helicopter, or any other conventional aircraft.
Until he retired as a military and commercial pilot, the closest he came to making that dream come true was experiencing the exhilarating rush of free-fall during skydiving expeditions. With the help of a personal aircraft that consists of little more than wings across his arms with jet-packs affixed them, Rossy now takes flight solo, no plane required.
