VIDEO: Jewish Philanthropist Donates Billion to Medical School
Former Albert Einstein College of Medicine professor, Dr. Ruth Gottesman, announced a monumental donation of $1 billion to her alma mater, the New York City institution revealed on Monday.
This historic gift, the largest of its kind ever bestowed in the United States, aims to revolutionize higher education by eliminating the burden of tuition fees for all students.
Dr. Gottesman’s generous contribution stems from the legacy of her late husband, David “Sandy” Gottesman, a distinguished Wall Street financier and early investor in Berkshire Hathaway.

We are profoundly grateful that Dr. Ruth Gottesman, Professor Emerita of Pediatrics at @EinsteinMed, has made a transformational gift to #MontefioreEinstein—the largest to any medical school in the country—that ensures no student has to pay tuition again. https://t.co/XOy9HZLbfD pic.twitter.com/1ijv02jHFk
