Before Rabbi Mordechai Gurary recently passed away from COVID-19, he offered a sobering warning about the importance of getting one’s spiritual affairs in order.
A beloved Russian-born communal leader named Rabbi Mordechai Gurary passed away last weekend in Brooklyn, New York, falling victim to the deadly coronavirus.
The rabbi passed away on Shabbat morning, leaving this video behind some time earlier in which he urged people to do a “spiritual accounting,” which according to Jewish tradition involves evaluating one’s character traits, actions, speech, and thoughts.
