VIDEO: A Visit to Abu Ghosh Proves it is Still a Model of Jewish-Arab Coexistence

Abu Ghosh, Model of Coexistence

Abu Ghosh is an Arab city in Israel that has always maintained friendly relations with the Jewish state.

During Israel’s War for Independence, the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem was blockaded by the Jordanian Legion.

As Israeli troops tried to break through, 35 out of the 36 Arab villages on the road between Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem helped maintain the suffocating blockade and worked to prevent supply convoys from reaching Jerusalem. The Jews of the Old City often had barely enough supplies to stay alive.

Abu Ghosh was the only Arab town that remained neutral, and, in some cases, even assisted the Jewish fighting units get through.

Check out this amazing video of the tastes and sounds of Abu Ghosh, a model of coexistence between Jews and Arabs in Israel.
