On Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu displayed an official U.S. State Department map that U.S. President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner brought him, which reflects the United States’ recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, in Israel’s north.

Speaking at a news conference in Jerusalem on Thursday, Netanyahu addressed a number of issues facing the Jewish state, including the next round of elections in September.

Netanyahu displayed the map brought by Kushner, who arrived with Mideast adviser Jason Greenblatt earlier in the day.  On the map, Trump wrote, “nice,” providing an indication of the friendship the two leaders share.

The White House changed course on decades of policy when it recognized Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, which Israel took control of in 1967 after Syria attacked the Jewish state in the Six-Day War.
