The first segment of this psalm calls out to God in praise of the wonderful acts of kindness and love He does for the world. While praising God, the psalmist acknowledges that He is Creator and Master of the world, turning to the great mountains of Tabor and Hermon. Mount Tabor is where the great battle of Gideon against the army of Sisera, king of Canaan, took place. Mount Hermon is the highest point in the Land of Israel, and soars 2,300 meters above sea level. These magnificent mountains rejoice in God’s name, and testify to the greatness of their Creator.
