BDS this! Yet another major high-tech company is investing in Israel with the hope of benefiting from the Jewish state’s unique talent pool and superb innovative capabilities.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met on Wednesday with Motorola Solutions Chairman and CEO Greg Brown, who announced the establishment of an innovation center in Israel that will specialize in cyber, analytics, mobile and the Internet of Things.
Motorola Solutions noted that it views its Israeli branch as a strategic asset and that the establishment of the center expresses its continued long-term commitment to Israel and Israeli industry, which began in the 1970’s with the company’s first development center outside North America and located in Israel.
The center will offer employment options for Israel’s talent pool and express the deepening of the company’s commitment to the start-up nation. To this end, the company intends to increase its investment in Israel by establishing the innovation center that will produce new technological developments for export to the entire world.
Motorola Solutions believes that this is yet another opportunity to link up with the innovation of the start-up nation and leverage the outstanding local talent.
“You’re in the right place in the right country in the right business. That’s a very good match,” Netanyahu told Brown.
“I hope that other multi-national companies in the development of technologies come to Israel because they’ll benefit,” he added.
Brown said Motorola Solutions are “thrilled” to be in Israel. “It’s great to see you, as always a dear friend,” he told Netanyahu. He said the primary reason for his visit was to say there’s more ways Israel and Motorola Solutions can deepen their partnership.
“When we think about additional PhDs, data scientists, hi-tech resources around analytics and cyber, Motorola wants to put more resources here in Israel. This is an outstanding area for innovation, technology incubation, joint venture investment,” Brown declared.
Motorola Solutions will invest in start-up companies in Israel, emerging nascent technologies, next-generation, Brown revealed. “I think will allow us to differentiate our solutions and technologies and strengthen the competitive effectiveness of Israel,” he said.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella was just in Israel to celebrate 25 years since the high-tech giant started its operations in Israel.
Many other leading global high-tech companies have found that Israel is an ideal place to establish an R&D center, thus taking advantage of Israel’s internationally-renowned knowledge and abilities in the field.
