Israel’s Ambassador to Anti-Israel Protesters: We Won’t Be Silent About Your Lies

Danny Danon

‘This is what hate and incitement looks like. These people don’t recognize Israel’s right to exist,’ Danon said of the anti-Israel protesters.

Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations (UN) Danny Danon on Monday faced off with anti-Israel protesters and vowed that Israel will not relent in its war against Palestinian incitement to terrorism and the spread of lies against the Jewish State.

Danon was addressing some 300 students at Columbia University, during which he was heckled and interrupted by Pro-Palestinian supporters of boycotts on Israel.

“Danny Danon, you can’t hide, we charge you with genocide,” they chanted.

Directing his remarks at the dozens of protesters who held signs and chanted slogans such as “Boycott Israel” and “From the (Jordan) river to the (Mediterranean) sea, Palestine will be free!”, Danon said Israel would stand firm in the face of such belligerence.

“We will not be quiet in the face of the lies that you spread about Israel,” Danon told the protesters. “We will continue to make our voice heard and we will continue to insist on our righteous truth.”

“Instead of inciting and lying, sit down in the seats and maybe you will learn something,” he suggested. “This is precisely the problem of the Palestinians. They lie, incite and don’t recognize Israel’s right to exist.”

Danon also expressed a firm tone of conviction that Israel will remain strong, despite their efforts to destroy it.

“I have an announcement for those students,” Danon stated. “The people of Israel will never leave the Land of Israel.”

“This is how hate and incitement looks like. These people don’t recognize Israel’s Right to exist. Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Israel and that is not going to change,” Danon tweeted.

“We’ll not be silenced when people are spreading lies about Israel,” he added. “Israel will continue to be a strong democracy, the only one in the M.E. [Middle East].”

The anti-Israel BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement promotes financial, academic and cultural boycotts against Israel, ostensibly as a nonviolent struggle against the so-called “Israeli occupation.”

Critics say its activities are a modern form of anti-Semitism and that its true objective is to destroy the State of Israel.
