We learn from today’s verse just how extraordinary the prophets of Israel were in their complete faith that God would restore Zion. Isaiah goes so far as to name his children with names of hope and promise, as signs that the redemption will come! It is these two qualities of faith and hope that are the companions of a soldier on the battlefield. Armed with belief, the soldier can carry on knowing that the cause of peace and freedom is worth his effort.
