IDF Destroys Monument for Terrorist; Palestinians Vow to Rebuild

The IDF destroyed a monument recently dedicated to a terrorist responsible for the murder of 26 Israelis, and the Palestinians have vowed to rebuild it.

IDF forces on Friday destroyed a monument recently dedicated to terror mastermind Khaled Nazzal, and the Palestinians have vowed to rebuild it, continuing their declared policy of venerating terrorism and terrorists.

The square in Jenin was recently dedicated by the local municipality to Nazzal, the Secretary of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) and commander of its military branch, who planned the notorious Ma’alot Massacre.

In the May 1974 Ma’alot Massacre, terrorists took school children and their teacher hostage, and eventually murdered 22 children and four adults.

The Fatah Movement, led by Palestinian Authority (PA) head Mahmoud Abbas, has pledged to restore it, stating on its official Facebook page on Saturday that “It does not matter how many times the occupation [i.e. Israel] removes the monument in memory of the Martyr [Nazzal] – it is our obligation to rebuild it.”

Fatah further announced that as an act of solidarity with Jenin, a monument in honor of Nazzal was placed by “young people” in Ramallah.

Fatah stressed that terrorist Nazzal “remains in our hearts, in our memory, in our squares, and in our streets.”

A makeshift sign marked with the DFLP logo has already been set up in the square in Jenin where the monument stood.

The DFLP, which participated in the first monument inauguration, stated that Israel’s dismantling of it constitutes a “crime,” aimed at harming “the supreme value of the ‘Martyr,’” Palestinian Media watch reported.

“All the streams of our people and its leading activists have expressed adherence to the value of the Martyrs and pride in their heritage and status, as all members of our people, throughout its generations, are proud of it,” the DFLP stated on Friday to the Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, the official PA daily.

The Front emphasized that terrorist “Martyr” Khaled Nazzal, together with “all the fighters for Palestine’s freedom and independence,” will “live on forever in the souls of the members of their people.”

In another Facebook post, Fatah even suggested that Israel and Fatah’s rival Hamas are working toward the same goal. Hamas apparently changed the name of a school named after a Fatah “hero” – terrorist Abu Jihad, responsible for the murder of 125 Israelis. Fatah sees this as Hamas’ “completion” of Israel’s aim to harm the “Palestinian memory.”
