In this monumental covenant between God and Abraham, God states that on this day He has given the Land of Israel to Abraham’s descendants. God explicitly says ‘natati,’ I have given, in the past tense, to descendants that have not even been born yet. There is no paradox here, for God’s word is the eternal ultimate truth and is as good as done.
