A reporter covering the White House Easter celebration got slammed after speculating that Ivanka took a pass because she is Jewish. The truth had nothing to do with religion, and more to do with snow.
CNN reporter John Berman was covering the White House Easter Egg Roll live last Monday when he commented on the conspicuous absence of the First Daughter, Ivanka, and her husband, Jared Kushner.
“I saw Tiffany Trump just there before. Not Ivanka or Jared Kushner. Of course, Ivanka Trump is Jewish,” he said. “I don’t know if she’s taking part in the Easter egg roll on the south lawn or not.”
The media watchdog site, Newsbusters, derided the CNN reporter for raising the issue of religion.
“Maybe Berman isn’t aware of this, but the Easter Bunny and egg rolls are not actually part of Christian theology or the religious part of the holiday,” the website noted.
Ivanka had, in fact, posted holiday greetings the day before on her Twitter account.
Happy Easter. Wishing you and your family a joyous and meaningful day!

She even posted a tweet linking the Christian holiday to the birth of her very Jewish baby Theodore, who was born a little over one year ago.
A little over a year ago on Easter Sunday, this little chick was born and our family was complete! #HappyEaster! pic.twitter.com/ohpwcGLTj6

It was reported that the Kushners were absent from the White House Easter event due to a ski vacation , their second this month.
