In this verse, Moses encourages Joshua to be “strong and courageous” as he readies himself to lead the people to settle the Land of Israel. Though the battle for the Holy Land will not be easy, it is no doubt well worth the fight. Three thousand years later, Joshua’s spiritual heirs can be found among the ranks of the Israel Defense Forces, men and women who demonstrate strength and courage every single day in serving their country and their nation.
