ISAIAH 33:5

The last Hebrew word of this verse is ‘tzedaka’ (צדקה). In Hebrew, this word is used to mean both charity and justice. This teaches that giving to those who are less fortunate is not just an act of benevolence or kindness. In Judaism, giving charity is an act of justice and righteousness, which fulfills a duty that is expected of everyone and so charity is an obligation upon rich and poor alike.
