ACT NOW: Demand the Defunding of UNRWA
UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, was intended to provide humanitarian assistance to Palestinian refugees.
However, recent incidents have revealed its involvement with Hamas and terrorist activities.
Reports from organizations such as IMPACT-SE and UN Watch have documented UNRWA employees expressing support for attacks on social media. Israel’s intelligence linked 12 UNRWA staffers to the attacks.
Additionally, instances of missiles hidden among UNRWA relief supplies and sacks belonging to the agency being used in tunnel construction have further raised suspicions.
UNRWA’s education system has been accused of fostering terrorism and hate among Palestinian children, with lessons allegedly promoting violence against Jews.
Accusations of staff complicity in Hamas attacks on Israel, particularly the October 7 massacre, prompted several countries, including the US, Canada, Britain, Australia, Italy, and Finland, to cease funding to UNRWA.
Now, there is a growing demand for the UN to defund UNRWA and reassess its role in providing humanitarian aid to Palestinian refugees.
The integrity of humanitarian assistance must not be compromised by alleged associations with terrorism, and accountability measures must be taken to ensure transparency and effectiveness in aid delivery.
We must act now to remove funding for this organization.
