BREAKING: Two Israeli sisters murdered in terrorist shooting, mother seriously wounded
Two women in their 20s were murdered in a Palestinian terrorist attack on Route 57 near the Hamra Junction. A third woman, aged 48, was seriously wounded. The two murdered women were reportedly sisters and the wounded woman was their mother. Oded Revivi, the mayor of Efrat, said they were residents of Efrat. Revivi said the father was driving a separate car ahead of the rest of the family, and turned around following the attack, witnessing the medical treatment of his wife and daughters.
Their bullet-ridden car was found just before noon on Friday.
An initial investigation of the shooting attack found that the terrorist gunmen first opened fire at the Israeli-owned car, before it crashed into the shoulder, then opened fire at it again, killing two of the occupants and critically wounding a third. 22 shell casings of 7.62 mm caliber, typically used in a Kalashnikov rifle. were found at the scene.
United Hatzalah regional paramedic Oded Shabbat, who was one of the first responders at the scene relayed: “When I arrived I found three people who were in critical condition. Together with other first responders, I performed CPR on the injured in an attempt to save their lives. One injured person was transported by helicopter to the hospital for further care.”
