Israeli Forces Arrest 14 Members of Terror Network

The IDF and other Israeli forces conducted counterterrorism activities on Tuesday night in several locations in Judea and Samaria, including in the villages of al-Khader, Tarkumiya, Tekoa, Beit Amin, Na’alin, the city of Hebron, and the village of Silwad, in which the forces rolled up a terror network.

IDF troops launched an extensive operation to thwart terrorism in the village of Silwad in the Binyamin area, arresting 14 wanted individuals suspected of involvement in terrorist activities. The forces also located illegal weapons.

An IDF force operating in Kfar Jaba, south of Jenin in Samaria, arrested a wanted man suspected of involvement in terrorist activities. During the operation, the force initiated a suspect arrest procedure, which included shooting at a terror suspect who attempted to escape. The suspect was hit. The force provided medical treatment to the suspect, but his death was later determined. The circumstances of the case are being investigated.

The WAFA news agency named the man Rafiq Riyad Ghannam, 20.

Yamam counterterrorism operatives arrested a suspect in the Jenin refugee camp. Shots were fired at the Israeli forces.

There were no Israeli casualties in any of the incidents.

A total of 24 wanted persons suspected of involvement in terrorist activities were arrested and a number of weapons were seized.

The arrests were made as part of Operation Wave Breaker, Israel’s counterterrorism operation following several deadly terror attacks that the country experienced in recent months.
