‘We Would Rather Leave Natural Gas Underwater than Strike Deal with Israel’
Despite Lebanon’s economic crisis, Hezbollah would rather let people suffer and bring the country further under Iran’s dominance.
A Lebanese parliamentarian from the Hezbollah party said it’s better not to exploit offshore gas reserves than to strike a maritime border agreement with Israel.
MP Mohammad Raad’s comments were made on Feb. 28 in an interview on Lebanon’s OTV.
Lebanon’s inflation rate reached 239 percent in January and four out of five citizens are now below the poverty line. Despite the economic crisis, Hezbollah would rather let people suffer and bring Lebanon further under Iran’s dominance.
