VIDEO: Corona ‘Craziness’ Inspires New Organization Helping Immigrants in Israel
A new organization assisting immigrants in Israel is an outgrowth of a year and a half of “craziness” regarding the entry rules for people around the world coming into Israel during the pandemic.
Rabbi Dov Lipman, a former Member of Knesset, has established a new organization called Yad l’Olim – literally, a hand for new immigrants – in order to make their adjustment more comfortable as well as to encourage many more to come on Aliyah.
Yad l’Olim is an outgrowth of a year and a half of “craziness” regarding the entry rules for people around the world coming into Israel because of corona, Lipman told Arutz 7.
Dealing with all this, he discovered the many other needs of Olim.
However, “despite all the craziness in this building [the Knesset],” he laughs, “we have a democracy – a dysfunctional but functional democracy – in the Middle East, and when it’s all said and done, that is something we could all be very proud about.”
Lipman is also pleased with the inauguration of the new President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, who, as the former head of the Jewish Agency, “can be a partner” in this endeavor.
