Israel assassinates top Gaza terror masterminds [Watch]
On Tuesday, the IDF announced Tuesday that they had succeeded in killing three leaders in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad military wing and one in the Hamas military wing.
It was also announced that the IDF simultaneously killed several senior commanders of the Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza City.
A Hamas source said: “Hamas has suffered a severe blow in the assassination of senior members.”
“Those who were eliminated were responsible for rocket fire by Palestinian Islamic Jihad, including in the most recent round of escalation,” the Israeli military and the Shin Bet security said in a joint statement.
A precision missile fired at a building in which senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad leaders were meeting killed three. Sameh al-Mamluk was the head of the special rocket unit in the military wing of the al-Quds Battalions and one of the senior figures in the PIJ rocket division. Muhammad Abu al-Atta and Kamal Karika, also senior PIJ field commanders responsible for rocket fire against Israel, were taken out in the IDF strike.
Earlier on Tuesday, Palestinian media reported that two PIJ terrorists were killed in their car in Gaza City by an Israeli drone in the neighborhood of Sujaiya.
PIJ has been responsible for scores of terrorist attacks, including dozens of suicide and car bombings, which have claimed the lives and wounded hundreds of innocent Israeli civilians. Aside from Israel, PIJ also considers the United States an enemy because of its support for Israel. The PIJ also opposes moderate Arab governments that it believes have been tainted by Western secularism and has carried out attacks in Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt. PIJ has been funded by Iran.
The IDF also announced it had killed Iyad Fathi Faik Sharir, the head of the terror group’s anti-tank guided missile unit in Gaza City. Poignantly, an attack from Gaza using a Kornet anti-tank guided missile on Wednesday morning killed one and wounded two others.
