A creepy image of former U.S President Barack Obama dressed as Satan has surfaced online.
The image was originally featured on Instagram by an artist named Annemarie Hope. Hope is known for illustrations of Satanic churches according to Neonettle.
The image seems to have been taken by Hope herself. And although she didn’t outright say that the man in the picture was Obama, she did imply it with a caption reading the phrase: “class & grace” – a term often used by Obama supporters to describe the ex-president:
Hope deleted the image soon after it was uploaded, but not before it was archived. After being asked why she decided to delete the image, Hope responded saying:”too much hate & not enough support”
If the image was indeed photo-shopped as some are suggesting, it would have needed to be done by a highly skilled image manipulator – an exponentially higher level than the usual prank images we’re used to seeing online. That’s because the image was cross-referenced on Google with no similar ‘original’ image to match it.
It’s also unlikely that Hope herself would possess such professional skills without any mention of it anywhere.
As Jay Greenberg from Neonettle explains: ‘The fact that Miss Hope doesn’t appear to have obtained this image elsewhere, and that she couldn’t have faked the image, suggests that she took the photo herself.’
And if it is indeed Obama in the image, the site News Punch opines that it isn’t just some Halloween costume but rather garb at a Satanic ritual saying:
‘It seems unlikely that Obama would dress up as Satan for a fancy dress competition or on Halloween. The fact that the person standing next to Obama … is dressed normally suggests that this photo was not taken at a fancy dress party, but rather that Obama was participating in an Illuminati ritual and paying his respects to his Lord Lucifer.’
‘Fact-checking’ site Snopes however begs to differ. Although they don’t make any claims about the image being photo-shopped, they do claim that it simply isn’t Obama in the image saying: “It is difficult to identify a person based on one low-res photograph, especially one in which most of the person’s face is obscured by a mask.”
But Snopes may not be so reliable either. That’s because as Foodbabe puts it:
These fact checkers reportedly have no editorial oversight and do not follow standard journalistic procedures such as interviewing the authors of articles they are trying to debunk to get all sides of the story.
Snopes doesn’t have a formal screening process for hiring fact checkers and for evaluating applicants for any potential conflicts of interest. Without such standards, it is very easy for them to be infiltrated by those who work with the industry and who have a hidden agenda.
