The Israeli Air Force flexed its muscles with an Iron Dome interception drill that lit up the skies.
By: TPS
Israeli Air Force (IAF) units held a live-fire drill on Wednesday to test the Iron Dome system and the combatants’ preparedness.
The participating units were a battery from the 139th Yahalom (Patriot) Battalion and a battery from the 137th Iron Dome Battalion.
IAF Maj. Guy Ben Ze’ev explained that the troops were drilled in “additional challenging scenarios in order to shed light on the systems’ new, yet unexamined capabilities.”
The test demonstrated the systems’ ability to intercept threats at increased range and the Yahalom weapon system drilled a brand new scenario, which it had never tried before.
