Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, had several polyps removed from his large intestine during a routine colonoscopy under general anesthetic on Wednesday at Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center in Jerusalem. The surgery was performed by Professor Eran Goldin, director of the Gastro-Surgery Department.
Netanyahu is 65 years old and enjoys good health. His personal physician, Dr. Zvi Herman Berkowitz, stated that his recent check-up, including blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar was good. In 2013, he underwent an emergency hernia operation
As per protocol, Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon replaced the prime minister while he was incapacitated. Netanyahu has returned to full capacity.
