Trump Sends Amb. Friedman, Envoy Greenblatt to Pay Shiva Call for Massacre Victims

American Ambassador David Friedman and Special Envoy Jason Greenblatt this week paid their respects to the mourning Salomon family in the community of Halamish, which lost three loved ones to an Arab terrorist in a brutal massacre last Friday night.

Oded Revivi, Chief Foreign Envoy of the Yesha (Judea and Samaria) Council, issued a statement of gratitude to President Donald Trump, saying, “It should not be taken for granted that President Trump personally sent his Ambassador David Friedman and Special Envoy Jason Greenblatt to pay a shiva (condolence) call to the Salomon family.

“America is our strongest ally and we must stand shoulder to shoulder in the war on terror. Their official visit sent a clear message that there is no justification for murdering a grandfather as he celebrates the birth of his new grandson.”

According to Revivi, Ambassador Friedman told the Salomons, “I have come here on behalf of the President of the United States of America and her 300 millions citizens who simply can’t understand this barbaric attack.”

This is not the first time President Trump has dispatched envoys to express his personal sorrow to victims of terrorism in Israel. Following a devastating June attack in which Palestinian terrorists killed a 23-year-old policewoman in the Old City, Trump’s senior adviser and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, made a condolence call to her family his first stop during a diplomatic visit to Israel. He was joined by Friedman, with Greenblatt paying a visit separately.
