Using the term “occupied” for the Western Wall and denying Jewish historical ties to Judea and Samaria is an attempt to harm and attack the Jewish state, Florida Congressman Ron DeSantis declared.
UN Security Council Resolution 2334 is an anti-Israel resolution that seeks to erase the history of the Jewish people and the connection to their homeland, Florida Rep. Ron DeSantis stated Wednesday at the House of Representatives.
The resolution condemns any Jewish presence in eastern Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, calling it “occupied” Palestinian territory.
“This territory is disputed, it is not occupied,” DeSantis stated. “When you use that term for the Western Wall, you are clearly trying to harm and attack the State of Israel.”
In a five-minute presentation, DeSantis reviewed the history of the Land of Israel, including the events of the 20th century, pointing to the fact that there is no “illegal occupation” as well as to the danger to Israel that a Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria would present.
The UN should be defunded, Santis concluded, calling for the new US administration to keep its pledge to move the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in solidarity with “our friends” in Israel.
