A new threat to Israel? Hezbollah will receive tanks from the Syrian army, a Kuwaiti source reports.

The Hezbollah terror organization is set to receive 75 Soviet-era tanks from the Syrian army, supposedly for use in its fight against the Sunni factions it is combating in the civil-war-torn country, according a report published in the Kuwaiti newspaper Al Rai on Saturday.

The report also said that some 100 soldiers from Iran’s Special Forces that specialize in urban warfare have arrived in Damascus to join the fight to save Basher al-Assad’s regime, which is supported by Tehran.

The Lebanon based Hezbollah will reportedly receive 75 of the T-55 and T-72 tanks, also as a thank-you gift from Assad to the terror organization for their support of his battle against the various rebel factions.

Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon said last Tuesday that Israel will not allow Hezbollah to obtain sophisticated Russian military equipment in Syria.

“We have something to say on this matter. We have no intention of giving up our freedom to act and defend our clear red lines, not allowing the transfer of advanced weapon systems to Hezbollah, certainly not chemical weapons,” Ya’alon told Israel Radio.

Meanwhile, French media exposed photos of Russian planes, fighter jets and helicopters at a Russian forward operating base recently erected near Latakia.

The Guardian reported on Saturday that Russia’s forces are currently positioned to take on smaller rebel groups like the al-Nusra Front which are threatening the Assad regime, but are also deployed there to fight the Islamic State (ISIS) terror organization.

Sign the Petition to Oppose the Nuclear Deal with Iran

The US Congress must reject the dangerous deal with Iran and ensure that sanctions remain in force until the nuclear threat is completely eliminated.

I strongly oppose any deal with Iran that allows for easing sanctions before the nuclear threat has been completely eliminated. Allowing Iran to enrich uranium without being subject to ‘anytime, anywhere’ inspections is extremely dangerous and unacceptable. This bad deal with Iran is far worse than no deal and must be rejected.
